VAARSO INTERNATIONAL HERITAGE WEEK 2009
AT KHADIA AHMEDABAD INDIA
The event of Vaarso is going to be a spectacle of the 1900’s coming over to meet the 21st century. A revival of not only the customs, but also the styles of living, dressing as well as the atmosphere will tell a tale of the old times. The event will be held on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of November, between 5 pm to 9 pm daily.Mukhya Maheman: Shree AshokBhai Bhatt Speaker Gujarat vidhan sabha. Udghatan: Shree KamleshBhai Patel - Chairman-TCGL, Atithi Vishesh: Shree Anoop Shukla - IFS-MD-TCGL, Shree Kanaji Thakore Mayor A.M.C,Shri Bhusan Bhatt; Shri Mayur Dave and Ms. Biraj Surti. Each day will unfold different spectrums of the colorful lives and their old charming ways. Sprinkling of attar, Bhungal kansi joda players at the main gate, and the lightly frilled tables with traditional Pani ni Parab, pan vala culture will waft in smells of a soothing comfort. There will be haveli visits, artist’s studio visits, elephant rides and museums will be left open for the audience to explore. A variety of films on heritage will be showcased along with the presence of Ahmedabad’s film makers at the event. Artists busy with their canvasses, painting in an atmosphere and their moods, bhungal bhajans, bhavai performances, street plays, sugam sangeet, selling of handicrafts in the quaint impressive havelis and a lot more will be incorporated in this picturesque setting of the Pole, which will be gaily lit up! A Maha Aarti is also scheduled to happen on the 25th of November, at Jethabhai’s Sheth ni Vav step well as an added attraction.

600th birthday of Ahmedabad by cutting Record Breaking Most Decorative Cake.
Ahmedabad and its 600th birthday celebrations.
Raheel Patel, the owner of VAARSO and Mihir Desai the owner of Sambhav infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Is helping to sponsor the event and this brain child of Raheel Patel ( Vaarso ) He plans on making an 850 kilogram cake, with a whopping length of 230 feet to mark this prestigious day! Raheel Patel along with his team at VAARSO and with the support of his sponsors Mihir Desai will be adorning the cake with figures made from icing sugar. About 200 people, Monuments, Illustrative Stories who shaped Ahmadabad, the city, will be creatively showcased on this cake, with the help of various icing sugars and toppings. The renowned people of Ahmadabad will be a part of the inauguration of the cake cutting ceremony which is to be held on the 25th of February, 2010 at 12 pm, in the premises of Gajjar Hall. The cake cutting ceremony will be followed by a fantastic fireworks display, Also 600 white balloons will be let off at 12 am, to symbolize the peace and progress our city aims to achieve.
The cake will be on display for the public from the 25th of February, from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. The team members of VAARSO will be then distributing the entire cake to various orphanage homes as well as the old age homes in the city. Life comes and goes, perhaps for us humans, but for dwellers in our city called Ahmadabad, it continues on…..for it’s the city’s life who fills us a with a new life each day!

At 12:00 in the night renowned people of Ahmedabad will be a part of the inauguration of the cake cutting ceremony. At the same point of time the ceremony will be followed by a fantastic fireworks display to celebrate 600 glorious years of Ahmedabad.
600 white balloons will be let off in the air at 12 am, to symbolize the peace and progress our city aims to achieve.
